Ear wax. We all have it but it’s something we don’t like to talk about. It protects the skin in the ear canal, acts as a defence against dirt and bacteria and helps to clean and lubricate the ear. However you can have too much of a good thing and excessive ear wax can cause hearing loss and prevent hearing aids from working properly.
If you think you have excessive ear wax make an appoinment with us to check your ears with our video otoscope, this will show you an image of your ear canal.
Microsuction is the safest way to remove ear wax and we are fully qualified and insured to carry out this procedure. If for any reason we cannot remove your ear wax by microsuction we will then use irrigation.
If you would like to make an appointment to have your ear wax removed we advise you use Earol for a few days before the procedure. Earol is available to purchase at our Preston and Kirkby Lonsdale offices.
